Default Key Fob and seat memory issues

Help Forum. Not a new member, just a lost password, but it has been a while. Here is my issue/question for my 2006 530i. It is not my daily driver anymore, and has 202,000 miles, but a little bit ago the diamond keys stopped working the remote access. I have researched this on this forum and others, bt my problem hasn't responded to any of the easy suggestions I have seen so far. The keys do not work in any shape or form or distance. Don't ask me about tinted windows, inside/outside the car, etc. They are daed. They turn the ignition. Thats it. Additionally, I noticed that the last radio station is no longer retained. The radio presets are still there, but I recently noticed that I cannot update the seat memory. The memory LED does not come on and cannot save new seat settings. I do not have comfort seats. I have driven with the keys in for extended periods and they do not charge. I have tried all of the variations of resetting or reinitializing the keys in key position 1 or 2, pressing and holding the open button, etc. None of those solutions have had any effect. I have no issues with my fuel door latch, lock or release. I have read about issues with the diversity amplifier, but don't notice any real radio issues. I'm not beyond taking that apart and cleaning it if that might be the problem, but I'm otherwise wondering if I just cut open the keys and replace the batteries? The seat memory issue threw me. Does anyone have any suggestions or been here? Thanks so much.

Have you checked the car battery? Many of those issues have nothing to do with the FOB, but are signs that the car battery is on its way out.

If your battery is dead you could cut the fob open and connect a new battery. I did this a while ago but sent mine off to have it done.

For the memory going out I wouldn't think the fob is the issue because the car sees what key is in the ignition. But who's knows try changing the battery in the fob and it may fix the memory issue.

Car battery is new. It was replaced maybe 6 months before this problem materialized, and everything worked fine after.

The last time I removed the battery from my vehicle and the vehicle lost power, when I reconnected the battery I noticed the seat memory didn't disappear and the steering wheel position didn't disappear (due to power loss).

What is holding those memories when the trunk battery is removed. What ever that is, could that be the OP's issue?

Memory is store in there respective module. Mirrors in the PM-FT/SB, steering and seat in the PM-SM and so on. All switched at the GM-III when the door is recognized. If the key is not recognized then it does not know what to set the positions or memory at. Also if the car battery is bad it could effect it. Your memory does not delete unless you physically delete it. My suggestion is to get the fob batteries fixed and move from there. There is no way multiple modules went bad.
