A small issue with key memory. When my wife uses the car it automatically adjust her seating position, mirrors, etc. However, when I open the car using my remote, I bang my head because nothing of the settings change. I have to manually push my memeory button and wait for the adjustments to occur before I get in.

I have played around in the settings menu, last seat position etc, but can't seem to get this to work.

Thanks,

as far as I know , you need PROGRAM ( BMW software ) to enable the key memory for your key ,, maybe the dealer have activated this option for your wife's key but not your key ,, it's simple job but if you are not familiar with BMW softwares , then find someone to with PROGRAM to activate the key memory for you ..

I'm sure the experts here will give better solution ..

Hm, I swear the key only memorizes settings such as preset keys on radio. As far as seat position, I have to push the memory button on my (comfort) seat.

I figured it out. Using her key, I determined that the box under "menu-settings" was checked for, "last seat positon" and going to the same menuusing my key it was not. So, using my key I confirmed all of my settings, i.e, seat position, mirrors, climate control, radio etc. then went in and checked the box "last seat position." Now depending on the key used to unlock the car, the car adjusts all ergos set for that key. This happens as soon as you pull the door handle to enter, not when you unlock.

I am not sure if this is a "comfort access" only feature, but it works great. I did test it several times now using each key, and it works fine.

Thanks for the responses.

from the same menu you can choose to adjust things when door unlock or door opened ... these options available for non comfort access cars too ... glad you sort it out ..

I use my K1200 as my daily driver and the Z on weekends, so among the three of them it's tough to keep all if the electronics sorted out. If they were all complicated in the same way it would be fine, but they each have their peculiar way of getting an end reault. I still miss my knobs and switches.
