My Ride: 2005 545i E60 Orient Blau Metallic Premium, NAV, Winter Package, Heads Up Display, Logic 7 Audio, AngeliBright Upgrade [White], M5 Body Kit, M Embroidered Seats
Red face

So this has been a nagging issue for the three years I've had my 545i.

I, like most of you, clean the car myself with extreme care and pride. I always like the stereo turned on when Im cleaning it but I could kill that darned key in the ignition reminder/gong that goes along with the radio on. I have to crank up the volume real loud which is fine except the cars acoustics don't lend itself to pleasing harmoney outside the vehicle [bass thumps and sounds distorted ouside].

Whats the fix, if there is any???

Yeah, when you pull one of those bulky jacket hoods over your head, you won't hear a thing!

We don't get the chimes in the UK so no problems here!

I work for Honda in the UK manufacturing the Civic and CRV and used to supply to the US.I remember how annoying those chimes were!

I'm pretty sure I heard mine chime with the keys in the ignition, but maybe that was with the door opened! Anyhow I just turn on the radio without the keys and it seems to work fine
