I live here in New Jersey and i have never seen worse roads in my entire life. Specially over the past few weeks. Because of these horrible conditions here, I have to pay $1,300 to maintain my car. One is $1,100 to fix my windshield because of a crack i got from a rock that flew off a TRUCK 
and $200 for a cracked back rim that i got from hitting a pot hole :'(
plus i have to pay New Jersey insurance rates that are the highest in the country. talk about getting screwed from the back
