Does anyone know if I can retro my 07/03 build E60 for BT? I've read about the 03/04 and newer BT updates, but I'm hoping that I can somehow/someway upgrade. I have the communication section on the Idrive and all the buttons on the wheel (I know it doesn't mean much). I was hoping someone could answer here before I take apart the panels in the trunk to check the system setup.

March 2004 and forward builds only. Sorry for that. btw, a July 2003 build has got to be one of the first E60s off the assembly line - a classic!!

You can if you buy a new TCU but they are not cheap. Maybe you could find a rebuilt one or a salvaged one...

Thanks for the idea, I'll give it a try. How do I find the replacement part number?

On cars this early, you needed to have navigation. Do you have navigation? It uses a different computer which allowed BT... As I think about this, you'll likely be facing a major electronics upgrade to get it done. Not sure it's worth the cost.

You need the CCC computer on nav equiped cars, a post March 2004 one. Non-Nav cars used the M-ASK computer so if no Nav, you'll effectively have to add it to get the CCC unit.

Here's the TCU (Telematics Control Unit)...

Thanks for the info. No nav, prob too costly to justify the upgrade. Do you know if a rebuild or salvage would work?
