We have a 2010 535 and have notice an issue when storing CD's to the vehicle hard drive system. It only appears to happen when storing longer length CD's. When the storing gets to about 70 to 75%, I notice what sounds like a type of soft grinding noise (off and on) coming from the CD slot area within the dash. The storing process slows down and the last 25% takes quite a long time to finish storing. When I go to play back the stored CD, I notice a skipping within the track at about the same time frame or place (about 2/3 of the way thru the entire CD album).

This does not happen to all CD's I store to the car, just apparently longer length type CD's. If I just play the same CD (not thru the stored system), it tracks and plays fine all the way thru. So, it does not appear to be an issue with the CD itself, but something with the storing process. Anyone have any idea, or experience anything similar?

I believe this feature as on vehicles with the hard drive based nav. system (2010 model year). Every time you insert a CD for the first time, a promp will come up on the screen basically asking if you want to "Store to Vehicle". If you push down on the idrive button, it will then begin to store the CD to the vehicle hard drive. If you don't push down to accept this, it just plays the CD as it would normally. We have quite a few CD's stored this way. As I have mentioned, for some reason, longer length CD's are having an issue storing into the hard drive for some reason.
