Input woofer left goes in channel 7, input woofer right on channel 8. (channel 5 and 6 are empty)

The input harness is the one with eight wires.

The output harness is the one with 9 wires (the 9th wire is the remote in). The center channel goes in channel 5 ( this is the cable I ran from the center speaker by the dash), left woofer output channel 6 and right woofer output channel 7. Channel 8 is empty.

To improve the sound from the AUX input, I de-soldered the two capacitors. I did the same thing on my X3 and it worked fine.

I'll be tapping onto the cigarette lighter for power for this usb plug and feeding it into the center console under the arm rest. This will allow me to have the USB stick with music plugged in at all times and the Bluetooth music gateway connected at all times also (it only needs power). I hate having to unplug the USB music stick so I could plug in the Bluetooth gateway.

After a couple of days of nagging thoughts that the wiring on the back of the HU may have come off at the relay (black box with red arrow) because it took some shoving and pushing to install it back. Knowing that it is the only protection for the remote cable (it could fry the HU) Not wanting to take it out to check, it literally took me 2 hours to put back in!!! I went to harbor freight to buy their inspection camera, it was $69 with a coupon.

After it was all said and done, I could not see the stupid relay box, it is a tight fit!! It was a good excuse to buy the digital inspection camera, and I could use it for other things but it was frustrating as hell not even getting a glimpse of it!!

As much as I hated to remove the HU to check.. I had to, of course the relay was fine, all the cables were still plugged in. I managed to put it back in, it took me 30 minutes this time, but of course the nagging feeling comes back, it's no joke, putting the HU back in with the extension camlock, relay and speaker wiring is still the most annoying part of this project so far.

Waiting on the brackets that I hope to modify to mount the ms-8 on the driver's side of the trunk. Ordered them from ecstuning and it takes about a week to deliver to CA, hope to get them by Friday so I could test this weekend.

update - bracket came in, modified it to hold the ms-8

tapped into the cigarette lighter to get power for the USB charging port.

The hole the wires come in will be cleaned up, this is where the phone cradle used to be, I removed it long time ago
