Default INPA & Ediabas install issues

Hello,

I am trying to get a code reading solution set up for my recently acquired 2007 530i.Build date is 04/2006

I have done a lot of searching around, but no real clear answer as how to fix this problem I am having in the install of the INPA/Ediabas software. I found this link: EDIABAS / INPA Installation Problem but after reading through it, it's like the original poster's question really wasn't answered. Maybe I don't "understand" the lingo.

I installed it to the C:\ directory in a folder called 'INPA'. That fixed some other errors I had from the start. Now I am left with the below issue:

The problem I am running into is that once it gets to the install portion of selecting "BMW Rectification group UK" as well as the USA version, tried the install both ways and I end with a screen that shows:

EDIABAS 6.4.7 (the check boxes are grayed out (complete and update))
INPA 5.0.1 (the check boxes are grayed out (complete and update))

The only option I can check is NCS Expert. I run that, it runs into a runtime error '76' and the installation closes itself out when you hit 'ok'.

I am trying to install this on a 32bit WinXP machine, bc that's what I have.

How do I get past this and fix it? What other options do I have for reading the codes in my car? I don't have any issues right now that I know of, but I do want to be able to use this or at least have some way to read codes in my car and change settings if I wish.

It seems like you tried to install it and messed up the process. Maybe it can be fixed by looking at a
. It is for windows 7 but if you look at it you should now how to do it. Make sure you have the install files on your C: drive
