Thanks guys, given my background, it is quite embarrasing.
I think one of the issues I was having last night was that my hand was moving faster than I-Drive. The force feedback also threw me off. I'll give it a good workout today and hopefully will get more comfortable with it.

My Ride: 2006 525Xi, premium package, premium sound, steptronic, bi-xenon adaptive lights, PDC, rear sun shade, rear heating, cold weather package.
Quick words :
learn the difference between a "hold" and "touch"
Hold (push the knob to a direction for 2 seconds) - Gain Main catgeory
like Communication, Entertainment, etc..
Push (slight push to a direction) - sub main
Say if you are inside the Entertainment already
push allows you to change the source, the playlist
etc.
spend 5 min practice, and you will master it.

Hi folks,
Just spent the last hour playing with the new car. So far I love everything about it with the notable exception of I-Drive. Yes, this topic has most certainly been beatin to death, but the fact remains it's a royal pain in the a@#. Anyone know of an on-line tutorial?
That being said, I refuse to let I-Drive ruin my fun and enthusiasm for the car. I only put 20 miles on it, but plan a proper drive tomorrow to really get a feel for it!

I-Drive reminds me of Cisco's IOS. Which is not a compliment!

Don't forget to try your voice commands (since you have nav). We get a kick out of Hal's (that's who we named the little man that lives in the I-Drive....from 2001 Space Ody ) interpretation of what we've commanded!
But when it works, it saves steps.
