Impressed with the TPM
On the way home from a party on Sunday night, I get in and get the "low tire pressure" left front tire on iDrive. I pull into the gas station and look at the tire. It looks fine. I check the pressure and it reads 29. (I run 32 in the front) I was pretty impressed that the TPM could pick up a difference of 3 lbs of pressure. Gotta love this car!

i had my TPM tell me i was about 5 lbs low immediately after i got the car.. on my back right tire.. about once a month.. till finally i had a flat.. had a screw in it.. makes me wonder if it was there all that time and after a while.. my poor tire gave out.. ended up getting a ne tire..
but i do agree the TPM is sensitive even to a couple of pounds of pressure.. IMO

I had my front left one trip with about 4 -5 lbs low, took the wheel off to look for a nail, or leak. Did not find one even after putting in a tank of H2o. On my audi you can adjust the sensitivity of the sensors.

Yes, signal for every wheel...
Am I doing something wrong? Can i change the setting, or is it another one of those U.S v UK model differences things.

I've seen the pictures on the i-drive on the US models, where it shows an image of the car plus the four tyres, showing green when everything OK. But, on my UK model, and also on my old E61, when you go to the TPM screen, it just says 'ACTIVE'. No picture or anything. Plus when you get a puncture, as I did in the E61, it just flashes on the screen 'PUNCTURE'. Then when you go into i-drive, it just says the same thing, it doesn't tell you which tyre or anything.

not sure, I had an error a few months back, the screen with all four tires showed, the one with low pressure showed yellow instead of green...turned out it was just 5 psi short vs. the other tires....

Mel- Was your flat a RFT? If I get a nail in a RFT can it be repaired or must I replace with a new tire? Can most shops fix/repair a RFT which has a screw or nail in it? Thanks Pat
