cars with turbo has higher chance to not last longer than non turbo cars...
turbo can go bad easily no matter how expensive they are...
Turbo gives boost but its better to have solid power from engine not from turbo...
i talked to my SA and there are many cars comes in for problems with turbo. I would go for 550i if i am looking for a new car.

Short answer for me; NO WAY!
When I first test drove the 5 series it was in a 535 because it was the new engine. After about 10 minutes, I decided that the engine didn't impress me and the handling wasn't great. I crossed off the 5 series from my list and started looking elsewhere. After about 3 months of shopping around every other brand; I stopped by a dealer on a whim with a friend and they had a 550i for me to test. This time the car just felt right, handling was great; the power was linear and the torque was outstanding. I finally found the car i wanted.

If I were to make a move right now ... I would buy an M3 sedan with DCT instead of a 550i. Because in something like 15-18 months from now there will be a new 5 series out ... and that $70k you just spent on your 550i is going to take a serious hit. And it would bug me if my 'new' car all of a sudden looked 'old'. The same won't be as true for the M3.
On the other hand, the 550i is an outstanding car - I still love to drive mine every day, and I will probably keep it for a few more years. And the 2010 model that will be here in a few weeks will be a very special edition ... with great M bits and pieces and unique colors available. I've previous owned 2 BMWs that were among those famous final-year compilations - and they were fantastic machines. But you just don't get your money out of them, even given their rare-ish status.
Whatever BMW you get ... you will love it.

Couldn't do it..
I love the 535i with ZSP, but I would not switch out from the V8...It's a very visceral connection for me, damn near emotional
