OK. So I have the opportunity to get into a brand new Interlagos Blue M3 completely optioned out w/the very sought after competition pkg. The sticker is 62k. I can also simultaneously exit my lease w/ no penalty as a friend and coworker is salivating to take my car. My question is, would you do it? I already know which way I'm leaning and I'm 95% there in my head. Curious as to your thoughts.

All the best

Yes, as long as you don't need the big back seat and rear doors

PS: Come to the Bear Mt Run so we can see your nice E60 before you trade it in!

For me that would be a no no.....regardless of cost or penalties, if any. The reason being that the new body style M3 is almost here and I personally hate buying a car just to have it replaced by a new body style soon after. As a matter of fact I have a rule of not buying a BMW if it is going to be replaced by a new body style within 3 years, let alone in less than a year. At the same time I know many people who have told me that if they like a car they could care less about a new body style coming up, although some of them have regretted their purchase once the new one has come out.

Just my opinion

Good luck

true, but there's ppl who'll sell a car after having it for only a year or two, some even a few months. maybe he only wants to keep it until the new one comes out...

You say you can get out of your lease without any penalties but you will still be in the hole for whatever you paid as a cash down if you did. I see you have the 530 so you would have a great upgrade in power. If you don't need the room an you are comfortable in the 3 series then go for it, just make sure that you won't be sorry when the new model comes out.
