I'm interested in seeing this install!

Side question, does anyone on this forum have 'round vision'? I can't for the life of me visualize what that would look like in action.
When I was car shopping a few months ago, I test drove a 2011 650li that was fully loaded. It had the round vision and it was honestly the coolest thing I've seen on a car in ages!

The display has a higher resolution that the E60 and so the video image you see is displayed is a lot more clear. The way the cameras work is you have one in each side mirror (on the bottom) and one in the front and back. They are sort of fish eyed cameras, but through the video processing, it gets displayed almost completely normal on the display. Each camera views one area, the front, back or sides. When these camera images are matched up to each other, you don't have any dead spots that you can't see around your car. The best part is there is no guessing how far away your bumper is from something because you can actually see your bumper in the camera. So you can literally park inches away....although I wouldn't recommend it.

Check out these two videos about it:

I want to say the 650 had a camera in the front also, but I'm not sure. When I parked, I had a car on both sides and one behind me. I think it better demonstrated the usefulness of the camera with something near the car, as I could see exactly how far away I was from something.

Hi Tony,

I'm a new member here and bought a same unit after reading this thread. However, my unit didn't come with any instruction. Could you please send me the ones you have? It would really be appreciated. I'm eager to get started. Thanks. My email is roy.nguyen@gmail.com . Thanks a lot.

Bought one on ebay and finally got around to install it last night . However, the idrive menu wouldn't display. It would just flash and turn dark when I try to switch to its display. The videos are fine though. I think I've got the faulty unit. Such a hassle. Now i have to put everything back together and try to request a replacement. Well guess you get what you pay for.

If it turns dark then it means it works, well did you connect an iPhone/iPod video cable to it to check?
I just installed one too. You won't see anything on the iDrive menu.
You switch to it and back by pressing iDrive menu button for >1 second.
Turn to fm 87.9 for audio if you didn't install AUX.

I will answer my self: The Parrot is a nice solution for audio input. The problem was that the Parrot have 4 channels for input/output speakers (front left/right, rear left/right) and my radio have 6 channels, 2 more for 2 sub-woofers 1 under each front seat. So the solution i find is to make SOMETHING with a specialist in car sound systems for make them work also with the parrot.

Now the sound is AMAZING, the same or BETTER than playing a CD, its just perfect. Now i want to install a DVD player, DVD without a nice sound system is not nice
