iDrive Music
Hello.. I have about 2000 songs on the HDD in a 2010 e60. So my 12gb is just about filled. If I use a USB stick will it load just as fast.. he 2000 songs take maybe 30 seconds to load before I can play something. Which doesnt bother me.. Just wondering if it will be slower on flash drive.. or if there is a way i can get something even faster.. like an actual SSD HDD.. dunno if thats possible
also. one last thing.. if I have some room left on the hdd.. is it possible to get a couple more albums in the same folder? or will i have to delete everything and import it all as one giant folder again?
thanks in advance

I use a 14 gig Ipod with USB Y cable off of amazon. Loads pretty quick.
Your question makes me curious though. I may have been living under a rock, but I didnt know that you could just pug in a HDD or Flash drive into the USB port and play music off of it that way. Have only had the e60 for 6 months. I always just assumed you needed the device(ipod or others) to help manage the files for the idrive. So can you do this? or did I miss understand your question. Thanks

I tried a passport HD and there is not enough power to operate it off the USB. I do however just load music and playlists on my usb flash and play via the idrive. supports standard playlists
