Hi all
My Idrive has decided this morning to "hard-hang" - the controller is unresponsive and the screen is locked on the default menu. The stereo isn't working either. I've turned the car off and on numerous times, same thing.
Before I take a trip to the dealer, does anyone know of a way to "hard-reset" Idrive?
It was raining very heavily here last night (surprise surprise in this country) - I don't really think it's a damp issue but thought I'd add this just in case others have had a similar issue after heavy rain.

You can reboot iDrive by pressing at same time [audiomute] + [CD eject] + [DVD eject] for a few seconds. It is the alt, control, delete of the iDrive. That may work for you. Hope so, but turning the car off and on may do the same thing.

I'm not sure we've determined a way to reboot non-nav cars. The process JDN described is for nav (CCC) cars only...

Your iDrive probably came back on after the car was able to enter sleep mode (car off and nothing touching it for 16 minutes or more) so it sort of reset itself. The reboot procedure will work if you're driving or if you don't want to wait for the car to go to sleep...
