Just washed the car and took it for a drive, did about 2 miles and as i started off from a junction the following message came up...DRIVE CONTROL SYSTEM, DRIVE MODERATELY,START ASSISTANCE INACTIVE. Presed DTC button and this doesn't work.
Did a further 3 miles then stoped the car, left it for a min then turned back on, message gone and car seems fine, DTC buton works as is should (did a further 5 miles). Car is a 520d SE, 20k miles and a year old...any ideas whats going on?
Thanks

Maybe a faulty sensor or something. Its no big deal, unless it occurs over and over again and stays on. For now you have nothing to worry about. I get error messages on and off sometimes too, but turns out they're nothing...

The same happened to mine about 2 months ago with the addition of the car telling me i had a puncture. Dealer replaced the steering angle sensor(now a recall i understand) and evrything is fine again.

Mines already had the sensor recall done....was fine before. Recall was done 4000miles ago at 16k miles. Just done 70miles, no problems at all...
