My entire display system is the best I have ever seen in more than 25 automobiles and trucks. Make sure your sensor (bottom center of display frame) is working. You can shine a flashlight at the sensor to see that it brightens, or cover it with your finger to see that it dims. After my last software upgrade the iDrive display brightness was different as well. I readjusted dash and idrive and once again I have perfect day/night/dawn/dusk displays.
