if you try to reset when your sensor is bad you'll probably get an error. If you still have error, make sure your sensor is seated correctly and'/or plugged in.
you wont have to remove pads to put sensors on from what I remember. just some long needle nose pliers or a long screwdriver to unseat the old one. Just put pads and rotors on my rear. I used my old sensor because I was able to...rotors were bad but pads had some life. But when replacing rotors i would always suggest pads too.

I've had this pop up on my car before, the iDrive told me I needed to replace the rear pads, which I did, but it wouldn't let me reset the service indicator......took the pads back off, replaced the sensor and guess what...reset perfectly. Sometimes you can get away without having to replace the sensor..if you replace the pads BEFORE they have worn down to the metal on the sensor you won't need a new sensor..if not....order a sensor when ordering the pads.....a sensor here in Ireland only cost me 12euro.

Default Worked!

I recently had to get my brake pads changed and had it done at Munro. Had all break pads changed and ended up getting my rear rotors changed as well (car would shake a little when braking) - car no longer shakes when braking!

However, the brake pad light remained on even after following the Youtube video - -15000 was displayed and it would not reset. I had to visit Munro again and have them make sure that the sensor was installed properly -- did the reset maneuver again and this time was successful.

Thanks!
