Why don't you get some usb/obd leads and use WinKFP to check what version software you have and if an update is available.
The only module/unit you shouldn't try this on is the CCC that has to be done via optics through the most.
Bluetooth will take between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to update.
Automatic transmission take 5 minutes
