I like the I-drive very much but one of the things I don't like about it, is when you're driving with your gps-map on and you want to change some settings like cd or so. And afterwards, when you go back to navigation you have to pick your map again in order to show the map. It would be better if the I-drive remembers that you were driving with your map on.

I love it...if it were an option I would pay for it / it makes perfect sense...put all the granular functions in the i-drive and leave the idiot buttons on the dash

iDrive does remember your NAV settings and other settings, too. If you were driving with the map and switched to entertainment, to return to the map, just push the controller to the right and hold it until the map appears.

I use I-Drive everytime, all the time! Took me out just 5 mins to figure out all to navigate and use the system when i was taking delivery I appreciate how it eliminates the dashboard of buttons and stuff...everything looks clean and uncluttered now (as compared to my old Volvo S80!)

IMO...one of the best lazy boy functions ever invented. I don't have to lift my arm even a bit to change something in the car...thats the best

I use Idrive all the time. I think it is easy to use and love the unclutter look of the dash . Despite the occasional problems with the software this type of system will be on most cars in a few years. As usual, BMW is years ahead of the pack!
