I started out a little late. Didn't get my first car until after college. Just a little 1995 Chevy Cavalier, Pittsburgh, PA. Had the chevy for 1.5 years and traded into a Dodge Stratus while living in Baraboo WI. The Dodge engine blew up on the highway when I moved down to Miami, FL. Moved into a Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Had that for about two year. Now I start leasing the Nissan Maxima for two years, jumped into the leased Infiniti FX35 for about two years, then ended up buying my CPO 2006 550i. I did a lot of rolling cars into the next, but I actually got a good deal on the Maxima when going into the Infiniti. I've had a nice progression of cars and I'll plan to be in the BMW family for some time now.

lol i went from... a toyota sienna minivan at 16, a 280zx at 17, a honda civic at 18, and now a 530i at 21.

Now the problem is I can only upgrade from here... right?..... (I foresee expensive car payments... )

The earliest age one can get a learner's permit and legally drive in Colorado is 15. The earliest age one can legally own a car in Colorado is 18 (except for certain emancipation exceptions).

Um, we are talking more than 20 years ago not currently If I recall correctly it was even earlier for farm vehicles

It's free for his job - Pharm sells. But when I sit inside it the material is terrible and he got screwed this time and only got a 4 banger. He had a V6 Avenger the last time. I know there's are very few domestic cars I would ever get. I've had a Chevy, Dodge, then a Mitsubishi, Nissan, Infiniti and now my BMW 550i. I love it. Yes I had the battery issue, but I still love it. The power, handling and basically how it makes me feel. I know it's not a 1/4 mile car but it handles better than most 1/4 mile cars. And it's plenty fast!! I used to think BMW was overrated and overpriced, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Love my BMW.

Exactly how I feel. I went from a janky Toyota Corolla > minivan > Audi A4 1.8t > Accord > S2000 > BMW and I love the way the BMW handles. The S2k and BMW are my favorites. 2 completely different cars, but the BMW handles amazingly well for a car its size and weight. I got a lot of people who snickered at me for getting a 5 series and not a 3 series.. actually a e46 m3, but I love my 5 and tell everyone who judges the 5 as an old people's car that they've never driven one then cause if they did, they wouldn't make such comments. From the factory, BMW hands down handles the best compared to the Benzes I've driven. Not to mention the V8 is plenty fast and the ride is smooth and quiet! At the end of the day, handling > than straight line fast for me. I will take a car that handles the twisties with ease, hugs on/off ramps and has a planted feel over a car that just accelerates monstrously fast but doesn't handle as well.

I have to say, the car handles almost as well as my s2k, but the s2k is like a fraction in size and weight and more nimble.

Actually Melvin, our legal driving age, albeit learners permit, is 14 and a half. That's when I tested for my license actually.

And why is your car in the shop again? (Probably out now, since it was posted awhile ago)

Driving at 14, thats crazy! Its 17 over here, and theres still loads of young driver accidents. Although it would have been sweet to drive at 14!

I love my E60 too. Even when I go to the dealer for a service, and get, usually, a 520d M Sport Business Edition, I love that too! I just love the looks, the drive, the feedback etc. And the fact that it's a BMW. Top 5 cars in the world IMO.

The only thing I would change mine for at the moment is a newer LCI M5, and that'd be a waste of time to be fair, as I can change a few things to get the LCI look! I will wait for the new F10 M5 to come out

Although that being said, I did nearly buy a Porsche GT3 the other month!

I had an '00 s2k for a couple years and while I loved that car, it was a little too "raw" for my tastes. The '00 s2k had a radio and that was about it. Absolutely zero creature comforts, but I guess that's what a lot of people liked in that car. I have to reply on your comment about the 550's handling compared to the s2k though. The s2k handled like a go-cart...it literally felt like it was on rails. To me it felt just like the Lotus Exige which I had the pleasure of driving for a few months. I can't imagine that a 550 is even close in terms of handling, but then again my only real world experience is pinning it against my 525 which is comparing apples to oranges.
