My Ride: black on black 530Xi 6 spd
I think most everybody either felt or has seen the recent NE blizzard, So on my way home last night I hit a patch of black ice spun out and
landed in a snow bank, after much hours of digging & DTC'ing (emergency roadside is pretty much nonexistent right now in nyc)I managed to free
myself, however at the expense of my ACS lip, undercarriage & whatever else that I couldn't see. The lip i could care less about(I plan on
getting m-tech soon) but the undercarriage i'm not sure, can anyone tell me how much an OEM replacement would be? Thanks in advance, i'm just
glad it wasnt worse, this storm is taking it's toll on everyone's cars right now, hope it will be over soon. Take care and be safe everyone

My Ride: '04 545i, sport pkg, premium sound, sprint booster,
What part of the undercarriage are you talking about?
Living where you have the chance of getting snow at the least you should be running with all weather radials. Heck I live in Texas and run AW's. With the weather your facing now I would have a dedicated set of wheels with snow tires on them. Throw those on your car in early November through to the beginning of April or so.
Hopefully there is little to no damage. Be careful out there!

Tow trucks, busses, even the snow plows were stuck, why even drive? xdrive, snow tires, none of that will help you these first few days. The worst time to drive in the snow in NYC is the first snowfall of the season, that's when all the people who "forget" how to drive in the snow or think their AWD is upto the job come out. I let them play demolition derby for 48 hours, then I come out and rubberneck at the damage.

I was about to start a topic very similar to this! I love my 535i to death but it really SUCKS in the snow as a rear wheel drive! I don't think it matters much what tires are on the car! It just wo t give the power to get out the snow once there is no traction. Take off the DTC do what ever still nothing. I live in NY but is still in Vermont on vacation and I must tell you 2 cars had to stop and help me push the car out the snow while my wife drove. I felt like my maxima did a better job and powering out of snow ANYTIME I was stuck!
I still love you tho just needed to vent lol
