i-drive upgrade questions

ive tried to do a search but i cant find anything. its to my understanding the 2010 models have new idrive software. will i be able to upgrade on my 07 530i? i dunno how this works haha. my idrive isnt very responsive. its laggy and slow. i hate it

As far as I know, without tremendous expense, you wouldn't be able to upgrade your 2007 iDrive to what's on the 2010 models with software only. I think there are a few hardware changes that would drive the cost up a bunch.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will chime in...

Are all the 07 I drives as slow/laggy as mine?? I had an 09 rental and it was much quicker

the 07 and 09 have the same idrive. maybe the 09 had newer software/firmware installed

The LCI cars are faster -- at least on cars with nav -- because they removed the haptic feedback from the controller...

so im stuck with the slow idrive... haha got it
