Does anyone know how to adjust the brightness between day and night driving conditions without having to go to brightness part of the settings menu. Is there a shortcut? I know it adjusts with the panel rheostat but then the backlights are too dim!

There is a setting to adjsut the offset(difference between display brightness and instrumentation brightness) of both the HUD and Idrive display.
I can't tell you the exact location other than you have to press the idrive button stright down from the main menu to get to the setting section.

[/quote]Yes I've seen the "screen offset" and never knew what it meant - I'll have a play and see what it does.
Thanks a lot

In addition to the offset setting in I-Drive, the most obvious and simple way to reduce the brightness is by turning down the dash board brightness from the scroll wheel to the left of the steering wheel. This also lowers the I-Drive screen brightness.
