I finally got my wife to drive my car after all this time. I suspected that the HUD would be too low in the windshield for her. I was right. She's not short, but her upper body is shorter than mine and she likes the same seat adjustments that I use.

Well the SA advises that the Tech Mario says it cannot be adjusted and if they cold adjust it, it would not be covered under warranty. So, I will FAX them them the pdf that Rudy has so graciously supplied, especially the last one since all I want is a 2" height adjustment of the display.

Thanks, Rudy!

My wife had a little problem with the HUD and after the dealer adjusted it it's all fine now.
It got raised just a little bit, but is waaay better now.

It is warranty.

The tech said 5 mm, but FikseGTS from Miami reported his was raised about 2" in May. He's in Miami, you're in Europe, what's wrong with BMW of Dallas?

My dealer has said the same thing, 5mm at best ... so mine continues to be lower then what I want.

My dealer adjusted it for me. Initially he thought it wont be possible but they figured it out for me . I am sure it went up atleast by half an inch as I am now able to see the speed display in my HUD (lowest part in the HUD) without raising my head . My seat has been raised to the max. Thanks to you guys for providing this info.

MY dealer said here they will not do it as BMW put it there and yes after some months I think they are right it is just in the middle of the lower part of the road or car before you I adjusted more my seats and my M steering wheel.

After I faxed them Rudy's instructions, they say they raised it. I can't tell the difference, but my wife says that she can see it better now. No charge. Also, I believe (based on 11 miles) that they adjusted the OBC gas mileage for me satisfactorily. Looks like it will be nearer actual now. Time will tell. I got ver 18.? software upgrade and the SMG in Sport mode seemed faster. Sure hope so. Will kick it good a few times soon to see.

It is there because it needs to be "somewhere" when the car leaves the factory. The dealer can raise it under warranty, BMW has given out instructions for it.

Does anybody know if thes adjusting instructions are common to the E63? Or has any E63 owner had their HUD adjusted

In TIS, the instructions are exactly the same as the E60...
