My '08 535xi went into the shop for an oil change yesterday and they did the HPFP recall service while it was there. On return, they told me that they's replaced the pump and 4 of the 6 injectors. I seem to recall somebody in this forum saying that injectors are supposed to be replaced all at once -- if any of them are bad, they should all be replaced. That's not what the dealer did. On the other hand, I've learned never to rely on my memory for anything. A search for 'injector replacement' in this forum returns too many results to wade through so I'm hoping somebody knows/remembers more clearly than I. Should they have replaced all the injectors? If so, is there a plan of action that's better than the obvious call-up-the-service-advisor-and-scream-at-him tactic?

I had my pump replaced along with 4 of 6 injectors too. The remaining two injectors got new seals. I heard something about the serial number of the injector as whether they will be replaced or reinstalled. I would think they should know what's going on if they can really recognize which batch of injectors were bad. Time will tell though.

I had 5 injectors replaced. I told my SA that he should have called me and I would have paid for the sixth injector. It is just odd not to do all of them the same time. God forbid if it wasn't a recall job then they would recommend to replace all. My 2 cents.

Well, at least it's happening routinely and just isn't my dealer trying to pull some sort of fast one. Thanks guys.

I asked the same thing today when they replaced 3 of the six and all the seals. It was explained to me that all were tested and only the ones that were found to be faulty are replaced.I have also noticed that the car seems to vibrate now when running and stopped. The SA explained to me that this is normal and it will take about 100 kms before the car "recognizes" how I drive and adjusts. We shall see.
