I agree with Cobradav, we are here all enthusiast about our cars and I think that is the same for most BMW owners. We have a passion of our cars (specially BMW) and we like to share and learn experiences from other fellow member. This site rocks!!

Agree!

I am very curious about the percentage of Americans vs Europeans in here.

Not too hard to make a guess. FDMalone posted 2004 sales of 45,500+ 5 series. Haven't looked back to see 2003 sales of E60, but lets add another 15,000 just for fun, though that could be higher. So, we're looking at 60,000 E60 sold and the member count here is up to what, approaching 2,000? Let's call it 1,500. Even if we assume that all 1,500 are E60 owners, and there are likely members who don't own, we're looking roughly 2-3% of the ownership pool. Reality is likely a bit lower. Just my guess.
Don't forget, this is a world wide forum. At least double the BMWNA sales so raise total ownership and members remains the same = 1 - 1.5% range. although there are those of use here that are not true E60 owners

Actually it's lower. Conservatively assuming the Q3 2003 launch quarter 5 Seriers sales were 50% E60 / 50% E39 and the Q4 E60 sales ramped to 80% as they blew out the last of the old models and all sales of 5 series thereafter were E60's and assuming normal seasonal trends for the fourth quarter 2004 (not yet reported) and add 15k units ballpark guess for the month of January you get to a total of 315K E60's sold worldwide thusfar.

We have 1450 member as of right now indicating that e60.net represents approximately .46% or a little less than one half of one percent of all E60 owners.
