I am not sure if what small screen you're referring as gay; the smaller business nav screen, or the small screen on the right side of the professional screen?
I meant the small screen.... as in the non-Nav cars in the USA... that have the small sized screen that does not fill up the opening like the Navigation screen does.

THAT's the small screen I'm talking about.... it sucks.

So, if you order a 2007 E60 without navigation in Europe you get the smaller screen? Is it possible to order a new car without navigation, but with the larger screen? Thanks.

I don't think there would be a good reason to do this since the entire screen wouldn't be used if the car didn't have nav. In other words, the software on the non-nav cars would only address the first two-thirds of the larger screen anyway. Actually, even on the nav cars, the main screens only use the first two-thirds of the screen -- the last two-thirds can be thought of as a second screen (not an extension of the main screen) so unless you have nav, there's really nothing you can display on that 2nd screen anyway...

TV option uses full screen IIRC.

Good point -- us silly folks in the US aren't allowed to have that many distractions in our cars...

We're just left to deal with figuring out how to fit our 64oz qwick-e-mart drinks into our cup holders.

My only complaint about the 8.8 screen is that the top left corner gets cut off from view. The little screen seems silly in the larger opening. Anyone know if the assist window remains if you use the ACM or other video module? Or will the 16:9 video get spread over the entire monitor?

It's an overpriced pointless option.

Wired to work only when the engine is off.

Dunno which sample pics I've seen on here but the entire width of the screen is used.
