OK here it is

In the manual on page 94-95 it talks about
1. Adaptive headlights
2.high bean assistant
both have asterisks
The high beam assistant is what I am talking about

My window sticker has
Xenon Headlights - included
Adaptive headlight control - included

Then in another column under standrad features it has:
Xenon Adaptive Headlights with automatic headlight control

So Do we have them in the US?
is automatic headlight control the auto-dim feature or the fat that they go on and off automatically
It is not the adaptive part - that is the turning thing (which BTW is one of the best features on the car)

Anyone?
I'm interested in 2, the high "bean" assistant, too. What is the high beam assistant? Oh, I see now; that's what you referred to earlier as auto dimming headlights. And, I see that it has been confirmed that we don't have them in the US.

High beam assistant is very useful and very clever. But I was thinking last night why it doesn't go crazy when it sees a highly reflective road sign. Once it sees the roadsign the lights dip - but they don't even attempt to go onto main beam again until the sign has been passed. Very clever, in that when main beam is off, the sign isn't anywhere near as bright. Also, when oncoming cars approach, it dips the lights at EXACTLY the right point on the corner.

Ice man is entitled to his opinion !

But of course his opinion is limited when he hasn't actually used the facility as it is set up on the E60... he'll probably just swear at me, and call me all the names under the sun because in my opinion, and with my experience - I think he's wrong

I have heard from reliable sources that CIP 20 comes equipped with "Fog Light Assist."

are you gusy talking about the DLRS (Day Light Running lights) ? if so that is a feature that can only be enabled at the dealership by allowing your high beam lights on in a lower wattage...

No, DJ. It's not DRL. It's High Beam Assist which is on automatically when there is no coming car, and off automatically when it detect coming car.
