How do you determine the build date by VIN#?

I don't think you can determine it yourself. BMWNA or the dealer can type in the last 7 digits or so into their computer and get the exact build date. You can see the build month/year on one of the stickers on the driver's door jamb.

Do you know if that date is the date to the dealer or VPC?
