How do you determine the build date by VIN#?

My Ride: 2007 530i SMG Jet Black/Beige Sport/Prem/Cold, comfort, split, shades.
...i'm trying to estimate delivery from a vehicle already at the dealer.

I don't think you can determine it yourself. BMWNA or the dealer can type in the last 7 digits or so into their computer and get the exact build date. You can see the build month/year on one of the stickers on the driver's door jamb.

Do you know if that date is the date to the dealer or VPC?

That date is probably an estimated dealer date. The OC is made for the average customer who has no idea what a VPC even is...
