Recently taken the car in for service and a fault on the idrive they have now confirmed that they have updated the software to CIP 22.00.00 free of charge!
Anyone know which business dvd version is the most up to date that will work on this software? I am unsure if 2006-2 will work or if i should go with 2006-1 as this seems to be more reliable.

Your dealer told you BS.
No need for CIP updates. The newest nav disc will work.

ON a newer disc there is no difference in the software coding itself, only the data is different, so why should it not work? ![Unsure](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/unsure.gif)
I switched discs once to the newest available at the time and it worked without any problem.

I have no idea, I'm just relaying my personal experience. Same disc, same car and after the software update it started working. Before, it came up with the "Medium cannot be read" message.
