Would love to get the experience of other members that have done this as a friend on mine keeps insisting that the ride would go down the drain!? tHX

As to your wheel upgrade, I don't think it'll make the ride terribly worse. Especially if you switch to non run flat tires with your new 18" wheels. It may even get better believe it or not. mic325 has non run flat Goodyear F1s on 19" wheels, he can tell u his first hand experience.

I have mine upgraded from 16" non run flat tyres to 19" Goodyear F1. It is not harsh at all, just a little bit more bumpy than the original 16". There maybe a little bit more road noise, but they are very acceptable. I haven't try any E60 with run flat tyres, but from the response from other members, seems like going from a 17" run flat to a 18" non run flat acutally INCREASES the comfort level.

You may take a ride on my car when we are meeting next time.

Hey Mic325 and everyone,
Do you carry a spare tyre?
I have 18" runflats now and was thinking of up-grading the rims and changing to NON-runflats. Not sure if it will be safe without a spare in the back.
But the funny thing is that I read an article in the Apple Daily a few days ago praising the Bridgestone RE050 runflats... this is what I have now! The article said it has amazing dry and wet performance... and I dont quite agree. It feels "nervous" during relatively fast cornering and more so over uneven roads. The article said that even Ferrari Enzo uses these tyres!! I originally made up my mind to change to NON-runflats, but after reading the article, I dont know if I am throwing away good things. So, what do you guys think? Run-flats or Non-runflats if I am to up-grade to 19" or 20"? And If I choose NON-runflat, should I buy a spare to put in the back?... Thanks in advance!

My personal opinion is that yes the runflats are good because if you tire is blown, you can still drive to a tyre shop, but if you have non runflat and you carry a spare would you change it? Given the condition of the roads in HK where there are heavy traffic and narrow roads. I have never seen anyone changing a spare on the road so I would just call a tow truck and let them tow my car to the shop.

Btw ah jai,

I think the space in our e60's trunk only allows a small size spare wheel/tire, not a full sized one. Keep that in mind wor.

Do you think your shop would like to do more M-kit? As I'm very interested and I think some of the members here are interested also?

Your M-kit looks pretty good where did you get it?? I really want to get it but it's too expensive in BMWHK and I don't know any reliable shop in HK.
Thanks

I'd bought my body kit at a company ships directly from germany for BMW and MB parts, they gave me a good deal coz my friend knows one of their staff very well. My friend bought some parts there for his SLK, it's about only 1/3 of the price from what the dealer charge!

For my bodykit, w/ installation and everything under $20k

How much do you think they would charge if I only want the Front part done?

Maybe half of the price? About $10 grand? But i honestly don't think it would be a good choice to have only a M front apron, but not the sides and rear...

If you want just the front, would you consider a ACS or Breyton front? both looks nice, and would looks good only w/ the front...

Well... just my 2 cents...

Of course they would be happy to do more business! But you have to decide in advance that, you may aways do such a job @ BMW HK, for more money... I'm saying this because some people never like to do any mods outside of the dealer, as they always said the dealer is always the best!

If few of you guys would really interested in buying/installing the bodykit from the shop that i go, I'm pretty sure they may offer us a group deal!

Hi Guys

I scouted out a place for possible meet up on Oct 11th, please see map below. There is a helicopter pad and a large parking lot at where the arrow is pointing. It has also got a very nice unobstructed view of the city skyline of Hong Kong. Great for picture taking before our drive off. Also it is right next to the highway entrance/exit for easy access.

Just a suggestion

Hi guys,
Thanks for all your replies... I think I will opt for the Non-runflats and go "commando" without a spare. I will probably go for the Michelins PS2. Now once I get my quotes on the rims, I will make my decisions on either 19" or 20".
Thanks,
Ah Jai
