Hi Guys
Long time no post. heh. I'll be going to MK later today to chk out some PIAA bulbs replacement for my non xenon halogen headlights. Anyone done such a replacement? Wonder if it's worth the effort. Anyone added new mods to your E60?
Cheers

Hi Guys
Used my lunch time to venture to MK. Bought the PIAA H7 4700K replacement bulbs @ $450/pr. Will install them this weekend and post some comparison before/after pics. I didnt shop around, bought as soon as I saw them. So you may be able to get them at a cheaper price.

Your halogens

OEM xenons on mariokwok's car
Yeah, I know.... unfortunately when I bought my 520 I was in need of a replacement car right away (my E38 730i broke down after almost 10 years in service and costed way to much to hv it fixed). The dealer only had 2 stock 520 left at the time, both orient blue and w/o xenons. So not much choosing for me to do....heh heh. And I really wanted comfort seats too cuz I had them on the 730i (still miss them).
Ok,
Here are the pics. Im sure you've seen the PIAA packaging. The second and third are before & after pics. The bulbs are alot harder to pull out than displayed in the owner's manual
My hands and fingers aren't already that big, yet the opening between the bulb housing and the engine frame is so small I had a real hard time moving my hands around (as it requires a few twists and turns to get the bulb out). Nonetheless, after mabye 20 mins I did it.

I paid $800 for 2. It was a lot easier to change the bulb in the E46, you can tell straight away it is not a Xenon bulb but at least it looks like it. In fact can't get any closer with $400 per pair.

Yeah, I can't imagine how the Germans with their big hands and fingers can get to the bulb at all?

bunbun, not trying to burst your bubble but i kind of remember this particular piaa model will only make light whiter but not that much brighter
. i remember i bought a pair of piaa from japan for my e39 before and they are really bright. but not 4700k, though. anyway, good job and your babe looks nicer now
