Found something that might be of interest to you. Eisenmann single out exhaust for the E60 (no need to cut extra hole in the rear apron as with the dual out). Also a link to sonud clip, test car is exactly yours, a 530i

Saw another forum member from the USA going to replace his stock air filter with K&N high performance filter.? After doing some research on the K&N site, seems like relatively easy way to add performance.? Has anyone tried to replace theirs?? good results?? I might consider doing it.? Will let u know.

Click on application guide to find your corresponding filter. For $50 bucks it's worth a try IMO

Nice that you've got that information for me! I've looked at that site too, but I think I still want the Quad exhaust system (although I know they doesn't goes w/ the M kit). Maybe I need to first find a way to modify the m kit before deciding which exhaust to get.

Dear All,
I have make an appointment with the bmw saleman tomorrow to order a 5 series. I am thinking about 525i, please share with me what will you choose 523i or 525i provided of course the price difference.
Also, we, (I and my wife) prefer grey silver, so what is the best interior trim? Grey with alumimium? or others? And if I choose to have other alloy wheel other than the standard 138, what is the cost?
Fianlly, any options I should seriously consider? Believe I would take the sport steering wheel. But do you guys have any other recommendations?
Thank you very much!

I hear the 523i engine is actually 2,4xx cc so the performance should be even better. Not sure if there's any upgrade to the 525 engine. If there is none, I would DEFINITELY go with the 523i and apply the extra money to options.
As for options, DEFINITELY get comfort seat, trust me, you won't regret it (because Im regretting not getting it). The stock seat is ok but the headrest is not comfortable at all. Comfort Seat headrest is much much better. Are you a mod guy too? I just had the M-tech aero kit installed and bought a set of second hand style 122 wheels/tires. The car looks good now.
So you are ordering one and not buying from their existing inventory? I assume you're in Hong Kong as well? Pls keep us posted and feel free to post any related topics and questions.
All the best

Hi die4bmw
Welcome to this HK sub forum?
? Im not quite up to date with the prices, I bought my 520 at $440K back a year ago.? At that time, the price for a 525 is roughly $70K more.? After test driving the 520, I had no problem with its performance (maybe because of the 6 speed auto gear box).? Torque (which is more important to me than speed) seemed to come very early and when needed.

The 525i engine has been upgraded as well. It is now using the R6 engine instead of the M54 engine. Horsepower has been increased from 192 to 218. The 523i is acutally a 2497cc engine, same displacement as the new 525i. The 523i has the 525i engine but in a detuned form, so it is pretty adequate in HK stop and go traffic.
I personally would go for the 523i and save the 70k to go for a nice set of wheels and the M-Tech kit.

Hi mic325
How is your E60 coming along? Have u ordered yet? or still deciding? The 523i really seems like a good value the more I think about it. Too bad I already hv a 520, otherwise I would definitely get the 523i....hehe.
Cheers

Hey Guys
I know we've talked about this before, but never really followed thru. How's about an E60 meet locally? Date and venue can be decided later, just want to see if there's general interest in really having one. Pls drop a note to indicate your interest, and any preference in time/place for the meet?
Cheers
