sorry to interrupt here
not to stop you from a cool steering wheel
no offence, just my opinion...
1. steering wheel without airbag are most likely from accident car, structure may damaged without noticeable mark
2. airbags use explosive powder to operate, improper install may cause sudden fire of airbag
3. airbag can't be tested, it can't protect you if it doesn't work in accident
for me, i will only change the safety component with factory parts

I change my from 2005 till now and happy with it.
this is only half true.
for our e60 car you get more money buy selling the 2 things separately.
if you ask the buys most of the time they will have the airbag.
also many contrys dont ship the airbag out so they just sell and buy the streeing wheel with out the airbag, then just buy a new airbag from BMW.

most M s wheels are from people who buy the M5 wheel.....
talking about wheels, what are you going to do about yours????

Yes it fun having the paddle shift, I have it in my stepwgn 7 gears which I only use when going for ND and MD which is 1s a month.
I drive with paddle shift all the time on the xbox360 so much fun.

Hard to say about point 1.... Some people just buy the wheel from BMW as upgrade and reason why they dont sell with airbag is because it is illegal to ship via air!
Agree with point 2...but point 3, even if ur car is brand new, u cannot test the airbag....u just assume it all works....
With all mods there is risk...

90% of us have change to the sport or M5 wheel and are fine.

believe it or not, i got a friend bump on the road edge with a second hand "sport" steering wheel
the airbig just worry about him too much so it fire up.....
i can't stop laughing after i heard that news
