But using the 3rd party pads, does it affect the longevity of the brake discs?? Id rather replace the pads and have them more dusty than having to replace the more expensive discs... esp my M5 ones!
I would keep your oem M5 pads.
it just cost too much for you to just to have it dust free and I dont think they make dust free for M5 brake kits.
most dust free pads are not that good in stopping power, they are only ok for road use and not tms nd

PS. Just a disclaimer, I am a "Nikon" believer, I own 2DXs, 3Xs and a couple of the Nikkor lens you guys have mentioned. Right now I am learning how to use the flashlights properly...
I got flash light but dont use it.
when using flash light the image is wash out most of the time or dark dark.
you have 3Xs which can take photos with out flash and it is much better, like my 5dmk2, but you will need a steady hand.

Come to think of it, does Nikkor update their lens more freq than Canon? I sure know Canon update their camera body hell of a lot more often...
canon body are ripoff now days a new 1 every year or 2
my 5dmk2 just out for 2 years and there will be a new 1 next year mk3 which is faster
so like I say spend the money on lens is better than on body.
I say to my friends get the cheapest body and a good lens.
then when used to taking photos upgrade to full frame and nothing else.

Think they are dust proof and splash proof / water resistant.

Definetely cant go diving with the lenses unless u got the right underwater casing...
