To be honest, i would suggest SLK rather than IS200.
First, SLK 200K is not a fast car, so easier for her to control
2nd, SLK looks more classy than the IS200
3rd, you dont have kids and you have the 4 dr luxury seden already, driving roadster is more rewarding than the 4 dr "no power" Japanese seden.
4th, Merc is more safe than the Jap car when crash (Touch wood)

4 simple reasons, you know what to do mate

The z4 w the 190hp engine is v slow la. as long as the driver has decent anticipation and don't day dream at the wheel, it's v hard to lose control of a modern BMW, the computer will start to act b4 anything bad happens. By that I meant, prevent the car to skid, allow u to change lane under emergency braking

I have driven the SLK, the gearbox is dull, it change gear 2 second after your press the throttle.
And the Merc is heavier than the Jap car too, so its more safe for you wife and most importantly,
You can enjoy the car too

Yes, near "thousand color shop"

There are so many people driving like that especially when they found that the enter the wrong lane and may go to other area. But they don't understand the earth is a sphere shape and no matter how wrong is the route, they can get to their destination finally!!!
