but for me it OK I take still photos most of the time and not money sport or moving fast objects

I don't think there has so much significant different on the focusing speed between current Nikon and Canon gear.
Especially when Canon using USM Len and Nikon using SWM Lens.

Even you have a D3.....after you put a lens of previous generation on it. You will know what is "slow focusing"
