Don't you wish PDC would go into "full alert" later than it does?

I backed into my Grand Cherokee, which was parked right behind my 545, it cost me $550. The autoplace said that if they heat gunned the bumper cover it should come back to 95%. Since your damage appears low on the cover it could save you money and not look horrible.

Later. I'd rather get a full alert at a few inches, not 12...

Ya I would rather have 6 inches... when I back up into my garage I need to back up ALLL the way to avoid the door comming down onto the front of the car so which means backing up and leaving 6 inches or less before hitting somthing. Since the tone goes solid at 12" I always back up more after that and I dont know exactlly how much more is left. Guessing works pretty well... since backing up a little more after the solid tone seems to be in a close enough ball park.

if that's your garage, it should be a easy fix. just put something like a cushion or soft pad on the wall. or anything that won't damage or leave any scratch even if you back into it. but it'll be a bit difficult if you are in a tight parking space in certain parking structures. i'd also like to have it down to 6" or so.

Not me, I have a ten penny nail impression in my rear bumper where I backed into a wood fence in the red zone. It is hard for me to gauge 12" when backing at even 3 mph. Now when I hear the solid tone or see I have a sensor within the red, I stop. I think realtyman would have done better to stop sooner, too, not later.

Ya thats the problem... cuz it comes on at 12" and somtimes you do need that extra 6" so you keep going but then OPS!!!!! So with 6 inches... DUDE YOU BETTER STOP!
