High Beam Assist Retrofit Question
Hi All,
Am a new owner of a pre-owned e60 550i with Lane Departure Warning option included. I have been scouring the internet/s for information on how to retrofit the High Beam Assist option (5AC) onto the car. Since I already have the LDW camera next to the rain sensor, should it be as simple as coding?
Been thinking about a few other retrofit projects like the Sport Auto lever, M Sport steering wheel, and Active Cruise retrofit.
I already got a set of the euro Aspherical side view mirrors which are great at eliminating blind spots.
Any info would be appreciated

This is the original topic where I got it from. I will be including the trim, paddles and buttons but no airbag. If you need more pics let me know and I'll post them up. My car wasn't equipped with lane departure so my wiring was different and I never personally verified the heated function but the member who posted it is a stand up guy and I trust him.

No, I do not have that set of buttons. From my understanding the button symbols do not matter, as I have a set from a M car and I set the M button to mute.

Below is a link to a 7 series thread about retrofitting High Beam Assist. Might help you out. I am interested in adding Active (dynamic) cruise control to both my 5 and 7, so if you embark on that retrofit, I will be very interested in your trials and tribulations. I hear the hardest part is sourcing the wiring harness necessary for the retrofit. Might have to make your own.
