hey i was driving my car to a friends house. it was driving fine doing like 80 to the highway. when i got off the highway and stop i notice white smoke threw the back. i keep going till i saw it again then i pull over the car started to like missfire or something like that. so i turn off the car. then i went and open the hood to see if im leaking any oil or something. then i turn on the car again and it threw out a cloud of white smoke threw the exhaust. and still no check engine and the car is not over heating. i change the oil a few months ago and was goin to change it tomorrow. i need help to see what it could be wrong with the car and i dont got warranty on the car.

Sounds like oil is passing the rings causing the smoke...How many miles are on the car?

Oil passing the rings would cause BLUE smoke, and would have no effect on oil content.

COOLANT seeping through the head gasket into the cylinders would cause WHITE smoke, and would cause the Oil to be milky as coolant mixes with oil. IF IT IS MINOR, the oil may not look different.

Some people mistake the color of smoke. to be sure, get yoru face right up in the smoke and if it smells like burned oil, it is oil, if it smells sweet and it is a damp smoke, it is coolant.

additionally, 62K miles is low and it is unlikely your rings. could be a head gasket.

most oil is light black/brown, even goldish right out of the container.

sometimes head gaskets can be a freak thing. although it usually takes a car overheating badly. when a car like a bmw overheats for a prolonged period of time, the aluminum head will actually warp. result is the head needs to be milled, and you have to replace the gasket.

since your did not overheat, it is hard to say. Unfortunately you will not likely get this problem diagnosed over the internet. check your coolant level however, and of course try to determine what type of smoke it is by pulling the "curious dog" on your car.
