Help with Transmission
I am in need of help figuring out what is wrong with my transmission and if it is worth fixing. I have a 2006 BMW 550i with the automatic transmission ZF6hp26 in it and it goes into safe mode has rough shifts as well. When I bought the car the lady that owned it said she took it to the BMW dealership and they told her the Mechatronic valve body needed replaced. I personally replaced that with a rebuilt from World Wide Specialty parts and they use Sonnax internals so I don't think that's the problem. While I was at it I replaced the fluid, filter, sealing sleeves, and bridging sleeve. Still has the same problem. I might have messed up the TCM connected to the valve body, but it was just a crack in the plastic and I didn't see any electronics that looked messed up so I just put some JB Weld there and bolted everything in place so it could cure. I took it to a shop to diagnose it and they told me the transmission most likely needs rebuilt as it was showing code 4F85. they tried resetting the computer but the code popped back up after driving it, Some people tell me the transmission needs rebuilt, some tell me the TCM needs replaced because I broke it, and some tell me it needs a new shift module. After resetting the codes it seems to shift fine through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear until 4th hits and then it goes into safe mode and shifts rough. any information or recommendations yall can provide is greatly appreciated.

4F usually points to a solenoid issue. Did the reman mechatronics have new solenoids also? Was it cheaper to buy reman instead of have yours overhauled. You can also be looking at 2 other things ( bridge seal installed backwards or fluid level). What fluid did you use?
