My '04 525 has developed an occasional engine rattle. I've narrowed it down to one of the two heat shields (i think that's their purpose), that sit just beneath the spark plugs. They look like little metal trays.

One of the two has a rattle. Seems like it would be a super easy fix if I could just find how they screw in. Does anyone have insight on how to tighten it down or a picture? I looked out at the realoem web site, but can't seem to find a schematic of how they attach.

Any insight would be helpful.

Or....does anyone have the part number for the heat shields? I can do some digging for a schematic from there.

Just plug in your 5's info and start hunting around.

If the coverings are anything like mine, you should be able to simply just pull them off. They are held in place by plugs that are part of the covers. Once the covers are pulled, you will be able to see the holes are where they fit into are located.
