I'm visiting in NYC this week with the family and driving a Sienna rental around. This city is total pothole heaven! Even if the roads are okay, the streets have been resurfaced so much that even the manhole covers turn into potholes themselves. I was driving around at night and can't help feeling the sudden jarring because of the unseen pothole.
Do you guys with 20" wheels just know where the potholes are in order to avoid them?
Is driving around on 20" pretty safe for you guys even on unfamiliar roads? I guess if you are comfortable with it, I would consider 20" wheels myself instead of 19" in L.A. However, I can't afford forged wheels so I guess it's a question regarding 20" cast wheels.

I've had countless bends/cracks/bubbles when I have had aftermarket rims from driving in the city. It comes with the territory unfortunately.. On multiple cars I've experienced the same thing.
Like C said, have to be careful. However, careful only goes so far..

yup, its terrible around here. That is precisely why i stay on my stock 17 inch wheels. I just dont feel like dishing out for wheels/tires around here like some folks do. Its not worth the headaches. If I lived in and around Bavaria, I would be on 19s or 20s for sure.
