My Ride: Silver 550i: Orion V2 - LCI Tail Lights - VRM 710 (Powder Coated Matt Black) - Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust - Painted Brake Calipers (Red) - Painted Rear MTEC Kit (Black) - Window Tint (Windshield 70% - All other Windows 55% - Smoked Side Markers
Model Year: 2007
I had that same noise coming from my car. Check your Strut Brace Tower. There are 4 bolts holding it down. 1 on each Tower, and 2 underneath the Micro Air Filters. Tighten them down to 48lb ft Torque (Really TIGHT). GL

I don't think this is the cause of my problem. The noise is coming from the steering wheel or column, it is not heard in the engine bay. I can feel it in the steering wheel.
Will give it a try anyway.

there is a thread on this problem here on the forum. I am not sure how to fix that but I know it is a common issue with the e60. Good luck
