help me decide what to buy 530i or 545i?

My Ride: 2004 BMW 645 black sapphire metallic, 19" Style 166 (245/40 & 285/35 w 15mm spacers)
I think that it's the right decision, I have had 530i and now having 645, no way getting 3 liter engine any more, the sound and the power of BMW V8 is just something magical that makes you enjoy every moment at the steering wheel. As I'm in Europe I'd probably take 535d with DMS over 530i if economy is an issue. My 2 cents.

it's quite obvious that everyone agree on the 545,
jumping from V8 corvette to V6 530i like myself,
sure notice the difference in power which is not my favorite
V-8 all the way man~~~

530i is not V6, it's straight

I have driven an LCI 550i and I still love my car... I have no desire to own the V8.
To me, a BMW at its most pure and "natural" form is an inline 6 mated to a manual shifter, driving the rear wheels.
Smooth a silk with light, crisp, balanced handling. If you don't live in an area with a lot of open spaces, you might consider the 530i. The V8 really has an impact on the balance and handling characteristics.
The nice gas mileage on the I6 doesn't hurt either.
