if your pockets are deep go for the V8, if they're not so deep go for 530

before getting the 545 I tested the 530.....go for the 545

I tested the 2005 530 / 2006 530(different engines) before I decided to purchase the 2005 545. Guess what? V8 rules!!! Unless 2008 535 which might be a different story.

I have a 2000 mustang gt supercharged that was dyno tuned and made 354rwhp. After I bought my 545i, I dont even touch that car anymore. The power difference between the two is noticable but the power of the 545i is still very impressive. With a sprint booster installed to take care of the throttle lag imo should feel pretty good power wise. Nothing beats the sound and power of a v8. Also there is a 100hp difference between the 530i and the 545i so its a pretty significant difference. So I would go with the 545i for sure hands down.

Besides the I6 vs V8 debate, the 545i comes with larger brakes, and many features that are standard on the 545i are options on the 530i. So, be sure that you are comparing apples to apples when you compare the a 530i with a 545i. I was going through the same dilemma....I got the 545i and let me tell you all I can say is WOW!!! Its def is a matter of personal preference but you will not be disappointed if you go for the V8. Gas milage between the two really is not that big of a difference either
