aww...the old discussion: v8 or 6 cylinder. The 6 cyclinder guys will tell you to put a sprint booster/remap in it if you're looking for speed/HP. The 545 guys will tell you there's nothing like the sound or feel of their v8. In the end it's up to you. I would tell you to test drive both and see how you feel/like each one. It always comes down to personal preference as you will be the one driving it daily. Good luck, either way..it's an e60 so you can't go wrong

alright do i go with an 06 530i or 04/05 545i? i've come from driving 350+ whp cars so I'm worried that i'm going to find the models too slow. what do you guys think?

BUT...
you are comparing 04/05 545i to 06 530i, maybe lower mileage, longer waranty it's just tougher choice. you may want to check if the 530i 06 has the new magnesium alloy block (w/ aluminum sleevs and direct injection, I ams ure the 07 has it).

get the 545. Since you are buying used either way, the price difference won't be as dramatic as new, and you will enjoy the V8 every time you drive it. Just know going into it that there is little you can do (unless you spend BIG $$) to mod the engine of the V8 to produce more HP. It has enough for me stock, however.
