I pulled over after I heard the noise. My car has 90k on it and the carfax shows it was only dealer serviced. I bought this car on my birthday feb. 24 so I've been the owner for a short period. I didn't run over anything big just the normal ny bumpy road. John from motorcepts is sending a tow truck as I type this. I'll keep everyone posted. Btw I'm lalay guys. Sorry for the late intro. I just went from an e90 325i to this white on black beauty. Thanks to the member for recommending John already he has been very helpful and quick. I'll keep everyone posted.

Bad bad news, I need a new transfer case, driveshaft and possibly a new diff. Also the battery cable disconnected itself. The car thought it was in an accident so it disconnected the cable. Ah this is a serious blow to the gut. But Leo and John from motorcepts have been great so far. I'll keep you guys posted.

That's too bad, at least it sounds fixable, hopefully you have some type of recourse with the seller.

FirstI've heard about that sort of failure - are you certain that you didn't hit something on the road? That might make it an auto insurance comprehensive claim - no points!

I know, Leo said it happend on another 535xi. The seller bought the 5 from Mannheim and sold it to me after. I didn't hit anything at this point I kind of wish I did. I'll get more details as to why. He told me there could've been a leak and it was running dry but I haven't seen anything on the driveway. The car was dealer maintained. Fell out of warranty jan 24th. This happend a week before I was going to inquire about an extended warranty. Just my luck.

Hey lalay -
I am not sure if you are searching for parts, but I have used these guys for parts before: http://weberbrothersauto.com/Vehicles.aspx . Not sure if they will have what you need, so just throwing it out there. They always seemed to have 4-5 vehicles for me when I called.

Thanks bro, but they already located the parts. I'm just hoping I don't need the diff or a transmission pan
